ABOUT THE GOYER SUITE

The Goyer Suite is traditionally elegant, with a stunning view of the courtyard and the Woodruff-Fontaine House Museum next door. It is named after Charles Wesley Goyer who purchased the home from his father-in-law, William Harsson, in 1851, and who expanded the original farmhouse into the grand Italianate Victorian home you see today. Goyer was an outstanding citizen, having an honest and godly reputation and being a founder and president of Union & Planters Bank and President of the Leath Orphan Asylum, where he was known to walk to check on the children.

The king-sized mahogany bed with brass accents is a comfortable setting for the Tempur-Choice Luxe mattress. A restored clawfoot tub original to the house is found in the Goyer bathroom, along with antique sconces, pedestal sinks, and a state of the art shower surrounded by marble.
